Joe Bolster is the oldest of fourteen children, and grew up in a house where access to food was determined by random lottery. After many years of bad luck and near starvation, he entered the world of stand-up comedy, primarily for the free meals. When his weight finally stabilized on the far side of a hundred pounds, Joe’s growth as a comic, writer and human being was truly meteoric. Since being exposed to daily nutrition, Joe has been able to rack up an impressive list of accomplishments.

Besides being the first comedian on the moon, Bolster performed his own HBO half-hour special, "One Night Stand – Joe Bolster." He has also appeared on "E! Stand Up, Sit Down Comedy," "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," "The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno," and "Late Night with David Letterman." Bolster was the winner of Showtime’s "New York Laff Off" and "National Laff Off," and was also the subject of a PBS documentary on stand-up comedy. Recently he taught Janet Reno how to breakdance, developed a map of the human gene code, choreographed TLC’s live show, proved scientifically that Pat O’Brien is not talented, and invented cyberspace. In addition to writing the final draft of "The Bible", Bolster has written for "The Martin Short Show," "Talk Soup (E!)," and both "The Annual Academy Awards," and "The ESPY Awards." Those who know Joe say he is most proud of his Olympic gold medals in power lifting AND ballroom dancing, and the fact that he once rented his pancreas to Keith Richards.

Impressive, eh? It just goes to show you the importance of a hearty breakfast.
